An energetic and candid insight into the day-to-day life of a professional opera singer and entertainer. Grace talks through her unorthodox route into the industry and a ‘behind the curtain’ look at practice methods, auditions and job opportunities, as well as what happens when things go wrong and backstage gossip! Proudly identifying as “not your typical classical singer”, Grace brings irreverent humour and audience participation to her talks. Also a three-time IRONMAN triathlon finisher, she demonstrates the overlap between sport and art, and extols an holistic approach to performance.

Grace talks about fulfilling a lifetime dream to complete a full-distance IRONMAN triathlon. Initially hampered but ultimately spurred on by the unexpected inconvenience of the COVID-19 pandemic, Grace talks through her motivation, training and first attempt in Vichy, France 2021. The talk combines Grace’s trademark comedy and candour as she relives her journey from scratch to 140.6 miles of endurance sport.
